LVMH Group are chasing Warner Brothers, who are responsible for the Hangover 2 for a scene where Zach Galifianakis says "careful, that is a Louis Vuitton" in what is clearly a joke as the bag is patently a fake.
The trademark suit filed yesterday in a New York federal court, suggests the firm has been damaged after the throwaway line from the movie has now become a catch phrase. Louis Vuitton is also suing the company from which the bag was sourced by Warner Bros to prevent it selling its goods in the USA. The company is claiming, trademark dilution, false designation of origin and unfair competition.
